Ultrasonic Cutting Technology

Focus have been pioneers in developing ‘Soft Edge’ Ultrasonic Cutting Technology for the textile label industry. Traditional ‘Hot Blade’ cutting systems leave a hard edge to the label causing irritation in garments worn against the skin such as Lingerie, Underwear, Children's wear, Casual clothing etc. 

These older cutting methods have become obsolete as Ultrasonic Systems are installed and the benefits to the label manufacturer and retailer are fully realised. For the label manufacturer higher production output is possible allowing quicker completion of orders with reduced wastage and increased margins. For the retailer, labels in booklet format can carry more information, they are presented as a better quality product and importantly the label stays in the garment ensuring full information remains within the product for its useful life. 

Ultrasonic Cutting is now a requirement of many of the leading retail organisations and it continues to become the adopted standard throughout the world. The technology uses advanced high frequency vibration causing only localised heat in the textile fibres. As the fibres break heat quickly dissipates leaving a sealed edge, but soft to the touch.

Focus label machinery have continued to lead the technology in printed label applications and have developed a range of systems to be supplied as conversions to existing cutting equipment or as complete combination printing & ‘In Line’ Cutting & Folding machinery.

Cutting & Folding Equipment

Focus Label Machinery have developed a universal kit for full installation onto stand alone Cutting & Folding machinery supplied by Horst Kind & Forthmann. Both these machines are regarded as the industry workhorse. Full flexibility between Cut single & Cut & Fold labels is possible with no limitations placed on the machines. Both machine types benefit from increased productivity.

In Line Cutting System

The range of Printing Presses manufactured by Focus are now available with Ultrasonic Cutting Systems. Material can be printed, cut to single label format, counted and batched in a single operation. Benefits include reduced wastage, exact count of labels delivered, higher productivity, same day service to customers.

In Line Folding & Cutting System

The latest addition to the Focus Printing Press is the In Line Cutting & Folding System using the same advanced Ultrasonic Technology developed for previous equipment. Narrow web textile rolls are Printed, Cut, Folded and Stacked in a single operation. The new system has presented a great step forward in reducing delivery times, improving customer service and your competitive edge.
